With deep expertise in affordable housing, resident services, grant administration, and program compliance, we help our partners build and sustain programs that deliver measurable results while supporting operational goals and long-term community success.
Today, MJ Community Services serves more than 10,000 residents across 80 affordable housing communities nationwide. Our team provides service coordination, quality assurance, strategic support, and innovative solutions that help communities maximize resources, strengthen program performance, and improve resident outcomes.

Vice President
Ara Vanderhoof
Ara Vanderhoof serves as Vice President of MJ Community Services, where she oversees operations, grant administration, strategic partnerships, and organizational growth.
With more than a decade of experience in affordable housing and resident services, Ara has helped build the systems, partnerships, and funding infrastructure that support programs serving thousands of residents nationwide. Her expertise includes HUD grant administration, operational planning, financial oversight, program development, and scalable service delivery.
Ara is passionate about building strong partnerships, improving program performance, and creating sustainable solutions that strengthen communities.

Director of Operations
Maria Vanderhoof
Maria Vanderhoof serves as Director of Operations for MJ Community Services, where she provides leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s resident services programs, compliance initiatives, and multi-state operations supporting affordable housing communities.
She oversees organizational operations, human resources, payroll administration, compliance, financial coordination, and strategic partnerships.
Maria is dedicated to strengthening operational systems, fostering organizational growth, and ensuring high-quality services that support older adults, families, and underserved populations in affordable housing communities.
Director of Quality Assurance
Gloria Pacas
Gloria Pacas serves as Director of Quality Assurance for MJ Community Services. In this role, she oversees quality assurance and compliance initiatives for Service Coordinators across the organization. Gloria provides training, mentorship, and ongoing support to ensure consistent service delivery, accurate documentation, and adherence to HUD regulations and company standards.
Working closely with Service Coordinators and leadership teams, she helps implement best practices, enhance program effectiveness, and foster continuous professional development.
Through regular quality reviews and guidance, Gloria is committed to maintaining high standards of service and ensuring that residents receive the resources and support needed to live independently and thrive within their communities.
Administrative Assistant
Jaylon King
Jaylon is a California native, born and raised in San Diego. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University and serves as Administrative Assistant for MJ Community Services.
In his role, Jaylon supports the executive leadership and resident services teams by helping coordinate daily operations, administrative functions, and organizational initiatives that contribute to the success of programs serving communities nationwide.
Outside of work, Jaylon combines his passion for health and wellness with his work as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, helping others achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier lives.
